Quick Handmade Sympathy Card
Hello Inkredible Friends!
Sympathy cards are some of the toughest occasions to create cards for but no doubt they are meaningful! Today, I'm sharing a quick handmade sympathy card that is actually versatile enough to use for many other occasions too.
I love the serene and peaceful look of the card; it just has a calming quality to me which is something I know the recipient of this sympathy card will appreciate. This card features the Lilypad Lake Stamp Set and Lakeside Framelits from Stampin' Up!
Before we get into the details of today's card I want to remind you that it's a great time to #1 Stock up on Designer Paper in the month of July (Buy 3 get 1 free)--Click here to read details of that sale.
#2 It's a PERFECT time to join my team!! I love both hobby and business demonstrators on my team. Have you even heard the term 'hobby' demonstrator?! All it means is you join my team to take advantage of the 20% discount you get on your orders with no obligation or pressure. The REASON it's a perfect time to join my team is because in the month of July you pay only $99 but you get to pick $125 worth of product from the annual catalog, AND a bonus this month you get to pick a NEW COLOR FAMILY of ink pads--that's 10 new ink pads for FREE ($67.50 value). On top of that you get this first order withfree shipping, then you get 20% off future orders, you'll get to see the new seasonal catalogs before they are released to the public and be able to order early from them and all of this is with no obligation or pressure. You get to enjoy these benefits through January 2019. If you love it and want to remain on my team then you can certainly do so (I can help you plan for that) but if it's not meant for you then you just go back to placing 'regular' orders through me if you choose. If you want to join or have questions contact me and let me help you--I would LOVE having you on my team!!
You can shop my online store 24/7 by clicking here but be sure to use the current host code (FBHJF7QM). **If your order is over $150 don't use the host code so you get the rewards directly on your order. Cut Smoky Slate Card Base 4 1/4 X 11 and score at 5 1/2
Cut Whisper White layer 4 X 5 1/4 and emboss with your favorite embossing folder
Cut another Whisper White layer for the inside panel of your card 4 X 5 1/4
Cut Smoky Slate layer 2 1/4 X 5
Cut Whisper White Layer 2 X 4 3/4
Use 1" circle punch to cut out a scrap piece to use as your mask
Stamp the Heron, the lilypad, & the sentiment on scrap piece of whisper white and cut out with coordinating framelits. Depending on what sentiment you choose to use you may want to use the Stitched Shapes Framelit for that portion of the card.
Stamp the water in Pool Party at the bottom of the whisper white 2 X 4 3/4 panel. Then place the 1 inch punched circle with light adhesive on the panel where you want your sun or moon to appear. Sponge Pineapple Punch over the top of the panel as far down as you want your sunset to appear. Follow with Mango Melody sponging on top of the yellow but leave some the plain yellow showing through at the bottom of the sky line.
Remove the sun mask from the panel.
Color the lilypad if you'd like. I used Stampin' Blends (Petal Pink & Old Olive sets).
Stamp the birds in memento black ink
Adhere all of the pieces and the sentiment onto the inked panel.
