Card Design Idea with Embossing Folders

Today I'm sharing a handmade card that will have you whistling a tune while you work! I had so much fun playing with this card design idea with embossing folders. I used the Stampin' Up! Seaside embossing folder and the Softly Falling embossing folder as the focal layers of the card. This is a quick and easy handmade card and came together very quickly. If you love making handmade cards for birthdays this is a project you'll enjoy!

I have a video tutorial included with today's post but before we get to that I want to remind you that there are only a few more days to grab some FANTASTIC July specials!
1. Select Designer Series Papers are on sale-buy 3 get one free. To see the selections on sale and learn more click here.
2. You can get a FREE color family of ink pads in July. Seriously!! This is a SUPERB deal. When you join my team you pay $99 but you get to pick $125 worth of product from the annual catalog. THEN, you get to pick whichever color family of ink pads you'd like (10 ink pads in each family so it's a $67.50 value you are getting for free!) You will also get FREE shipping and LOADS of perks! Cutting Dimensions for Birthday Card:

Cut basic black cardstock for base 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 Scored at 4 1/4
Cut Real Red layer at 4 X 5 1/2 and emboss with Seaside embossing folder
Cut Silver Foil 1 1/4 X 5 1/4 and emboss with softly falling embossing folder
Cut Silver Foil for Sentiment mat at 3/4 X 3 1/2
Cut Whisper White Banner 1/2 X 3 1/4 and stamp sentiment in memento black ink
Inside card Panel: Whisper White 5 1/4 X 4

On Whisper White cardstock stamp the Sheet Music background in Memento Black Ink
Using the 1" circle punch, punch 2 circles out of the stamped sheet music image.
Using the layering circle framelits (or punches if you don't have the framelits) cut 1 circle at 1- 1/8" and another at 1-5/8" from the sheet music.
Out of basic black cardstock, cut a layering mat that is 1/8" to 1/4" bigger than each circle. I used real red cardstock for the mat behind my largest center circle.
Take the sentiment and banner cut the cut. Next adhere it to the foil sheet mat 3/4 X 3 1/2 and then banner cut that.
Next, attach the real red layer onto the basic black card base. Attach the 1 1/4 X 5 1/4 silver foil panel toward the bottom of your layer leaving about 1/2 inch of red showing at the bottom.
Attach the matted circles on the card front where desired with dimensionals.
Finally, attach your sentiment toward the top left corner.
